Mr. DiGangi

Here are 2 things that we will be working on at each grade level:
-Teamwork: In many ways teamwork is important for a student to grow. Teamwork builds trust and it builds friendships.
-Be Humble: After a game is played, and a winner is decided, I expect the students to exhibit good sportsmanship.

Thus far, the school year has been great! For the middle school, we are finishing up a unit on volleyball. The next topic we will be doing is football! Each game we play will be a modified version of football so that the students can practice and learn how to throw and catch a football, while at the same time avoiding injuries. I will also be incorporating exercise stations into the Physical Education class because exercise is vital to growth, mentally and physically.

Our students from Pre-K through 2nd grade are making huge improvements on their gross motor skills! Many are getting the hang of the difference between a skip and a gallop, something I am very proud of. I introduced what it means to have personal space for Pre-K and Kindergarten. We will continue conversations about the importance of personal space moving forward. 1st grade and second grade are getting into ball manipulation. For example, we've had stations where the students need to bounce a ball off of a spike ball trampoline and another student needs to catch it. Basic skills like this will help their coordination immensely. We have also been playing soccer, a game the students absolutely love.

3rd grade and 4th grade have been learning how to throw a football and practicing juggling. We just started a new game called scooter football! It is a blast and the students seem to enjoy it. Scooter football and another modified football game called "Endzone" will be played for the rest of October and maybe into November.
