Pre-K, K, 1st and 2nd

May will consist of not only throwing a ball, but the process of a catch as well. The throw and catch does in fact require a sense of team work because the thrower needs to get the catchers attention and make sure the throw is good enough to catch. On the flip side, the catcher needs to pay attention to the thrower and complete the catch.
I will reinforce the throw and catch with games that force the students to use team work to complete the catch.

We will also play with scooters by doing relays and other fun games to keep the students active and having fun!

3rd and 4th

This age group needs improvement on their throwing and catching skills. Unlike the younger grades, I do not need to do baby steps with the throwing and catching process, but instead I need to supplement the students with activities and games that force them to practice this skill.

5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th

This month we will be finishing up volleyball and changing gears to a game called ultimate frisbee. Especially with the weather improving, I'm hoping we can get outside during our gym time to play this fun and fast paced game. This game forces the students to work together, as well as giving them the opportunity to handle an object they do not normally play with.
