Meet The Teacher

My name is Amy Zimmer and this is my 3rd year teaching at LBCRS.  Prior to working here, I managed a daycare in New York City, then worked one-on-one with children at The Association for Children with Down Syndrome.  In 2013, I received my Masters from Adelphi University in Early Childhood Regular Education and Special Education.
One of the things I love most about the teaching profession is the dynamic work environment, and how each day is different.  The past few years at LBCRS have presented new challenges, opportunities and memorable moments that I have had the privilege of sharing with the kids, and I look forward to many more.  I love seeing my previous students in the hallway and watching them evolve after second grade.  It means so much to teach students who are so eager to learn and excited about school!
When I am not teaching, I love spending time with family and friends, traveling, and running the boardwalk.
