Upon graduating high school from West Hempstead High School, I attended Nassau Community College. After receiving my associate's degree in music performance, I transferred to Adelphi University. I currently hold of B.S. degree in music education from Adelphi University.
Following my graduation, I started work as a per diem substitute teacher in the Valley Stream #13 School District. During my collegiate studies, I completed both my observation hours and student teaching hours at Howell Road Elementary School, which is part of the Valley Stream #13 School District. After completing my work as a student teacher, the principal at Howell Road thought I would be a great fit as a substitute teacher, due to my familiarity with the building, faculty, students and parents. I started as a substitute teacher in the following school year. Although my background is in music, I was implemented in all different classes throughout the district, ranging from physical education to general classroom teacher.
I've also been a private music instructor for the last seven years. Primarily teaching classical guitar at all levels, I've also taught piano, saxophone, jazz guitar and music theory at various levels. Through these private lessons, I've gained valuable experience with NYSSMA, having students participate in various levels over the last three years.
When not preparing lessons privately or working towards furthering myself as an educator, I thoroughly enjoy practicing my instrument and attending sporting events.
I look forward to meeting everyone at L.B.C.R.S. in my first year as the music teacher!
