As a young adult, I worked in the corporate world as I studied for my bachelors degree from Molloy College in Business Management. After marrying and having children, I decided to return to school at Molloy College and pursue my Masters in Education.
I began teaching twelve years ago as a leave replacement for 7th and 8th grade Math at St. Martin of Tours in Amityville, NY. From the first day, I was hooked and knew I had made the right decision on a career change. After leaving St. Martin, I took a job at St. Raymond in East Rockaway. There I furthered my teaching background as a 7th grade Reading teacher and Computer teacher for grades K through 8. Having stayed there three years, I then made my final move to Long Beach Catholic. I began teaching here in the middle school for several years as a Reading/ELA teacher and a few years ago made a change to fourth grade. I love that I have been able to experience several subjects and grades in my career, and feel it has made me the well rounded teacher I am today.
I am an avid reader and try to share my love of reading with the students. My favorite memories of teaching all have to do with the sharing and reading of novels with my students within the classroom.
